Hillsville is a small town. We have 1 taxicab from our motel, and it is only about 2 miles to go into historical downtown.

The airports from our motel is about 70 miles (one in Roanoke, VA and one is Greensboro, NC). The beaches are 300 miles from us (one in Myrtle Beach and one in Virginia Beach).

We are in the mountains - the Blue Ridge Mountains of VA. We have the Blue Ridge Parkway about 8 miles from our motel. Going north on the parkway we have Marby's Mill and a winery.

On Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend, we have the famous flea market that takes the whole town and everyone's yard.

What can I do nearby?
We are in a historical town, 14 miles south of Andy Griffith's home place. They have Floyd's Barber Shop, Ophie's Candy Shop, Aunt Bee's Restaurant, Goobers Restaurant and a tour car like the police car on his show. The town has a statue of Andy and his son going fishing. They also have the Andy Griffith Playhouse. There are many thins in Mount Airy, NC. Pilot Mountain is only a few miles from Mt. Airy.
